Building Hope Building Commitment, INC – Vickie Craighead-Davis Founder/Executive Director
Description
Vickie Craighead-Davis is a visionary housing leader, strategist, and advocate dedicated to transforming how communities address homelessness and housing instability. As the Founder and Executive Director of Building Hope Building Commitment (BHBC), she leads a Charlotte-based nonprofit focused on preventing homelessness through housing retention, stabilization, and self-sufficiency.
With over a decade of experience in housing navigation, emergency shelter systems, and community-based services, Vickie has built a reputation for developing practical, results-driven solutions that go beyond temporary housing placement. Under her leadership, BHBC has become a movement centered on long-term stability, empowering individuals and families through workforce development, financial literacy, and personalized supportive services .
Vickie is the creator of the Retention-Centered Stabilization Model™ (RCSM™)—an innovative approach that prioritizes keeping people housed by addressing the root causes of housing loss, including income instability and lack of ongoing support. Her work challenges traditional systems by proving that housing retention is more effective and cost-efficient than repeated rehousing efforts.
Known for her bold, community-centered leadership, Vickie actively partners with faith-based organizations, developers, and cross-sector leaders to expand access to sustainable housing solutions across North Carolina. Her mission is clear: to build systems that not only house people—but ensure they stay housed, thrive, and achieve lasting independence.
